Warm Winds Drive-In | L O S T A T L A S

Stop on by the shop on Monday, October 17, for our 2nd annual tailgating, drive-in, event! Weather permitting we are going to and set up an HD projector on the front of the building and show a MASSIVE surf flick blaring thru a giant PA system. It’s going to be classy. We are also going to have a bunch of food and beverage BBQ style…so come hungry….and of course there will be plenty of free gear to give away!!!
If the weather is absolute garbage, we will hold off on the event until October 24, the Monday of the following week.

Lost Atlas – The Creators of Modern Collective Splice Another Sick One

When Kai Neville’s name was uttered 3 years ago, hardly anyone knew who he was. In fact, no one knew who he was. If you are one of the select few who says “ohh yeahh I knew who he was, totally” then I’ll happily hit you with a large monotone BS stamp right on your forehead.

August of 2011 is an entirely different Kai filled world. For surf movie fanatics, he is now a household name synonymous with or even surpassing guys like Spielberg. With Modern Collective, he put himself and his freakishly good video editing skills on the radar. Somehow he found a way to blend art and surfing without losing the core surfing audience, not an easy feat to accomplish.

Lost Atlas is Neville’s next chapter. In fact, I even call it better. Maybe an entirely new novel. Cohesive and clean with better surfing. There. It has been said. Need proof? Fine, we knew you would. Pick one up here at the shop and see fore yourself.

JS Industries | 1st batch of 10

JS Surfboards delivered their first batch of boards to the shop today and they are looking SICK…kicked it off with two models – the Blakbox and the Kingpin. Check these two models out for all your small wave grovelling needs.

The BLAK BOX: This board offers a fuller curvy outline with a higher and more defined hip pulled from the fins into a nice straight directional tail curve through to the wider tail pod. JS has spent a lot of time on this model combining old school outlines with the latest bottom curves showcasing plenty of detail. Once again Jason has come through with another house favorite amongst the JS pro team for smaller waves. The deck is flat giving the board an overall feeling of extra forgiveness allowing you to ride this board thinner than a normal performance board. You will find this board fast in flat sections because extra foam has been left under your chest and front foot. Ride this board 3-4 inches shorter than normal.

KING PIN: If you love rounded pins then you will love this new double flyer rounded pin tail. King Pin is another addition to the world of shorter and wider models. With a flat deck, wider outline and flyers leading into a little rnd pin tail, the tail offers an incredibly tight turning circle in the pocket. The wide outline overcomes any catch through turns; the flat single concave entry under your chest offers a lot of lift and speed with a double concave between the fins. Try this model and you will be hooked. Ride this board 3-4 inches shorter than normal up to 6 feet.

“Last One Out” Live Show @ The Coast Guard House

Surf for the Cause’s mission is to facilitate and foster relationships between surfers, travelers, and people in impoverished coastal communities throughout the world. They are committed to joyfully serving the poor in these communities where surfers, in particular, are drawn because of the waves. They devote their energy and time as surfers to alleviate suffering, bring emotional uplift, inspire minds, restore joy, encourage and exemplify goodwill and love, all while traveling the world in search of the perfect wave.

Join them and help raise money that will go to providing direct support for an impoverished community in Nicaragua.

Last year, this event was HUGE! It should be tons of fun, so get on it early and snag your tickets!
